Conservation, research and planting of pine trees. The North Carolina Pine Needle Producers Association has been promoting the planting of longleaf pine seedlings since the mid '80s and with three million acres planted; there is a more than adequate supply of mother nature's perfect mulch. The longleaf pine (Pinus palustris) is a very important species native to the Southeastern U.S. Support of the longleaf pine needle industry insures the perpetuation of longleaf pines and all other species indigenous to their ecosystem.
